In 2010 the World Health Organization made World Hepatitis Day one of only four official disease-specific world health days, to be celebrated each year on the 28th July. Millions of people across the world now take part in World Hepatitis Day, to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, and to call for access to treatment, better prevention programs and government action. On June 16th, 2016 AIDS Care Ocean hosted the final Drag Bingo of the 2015-2017 season with proceeds being donated to both Rhode Island Pride and the Orlando family fund. Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and players for making it a great season!

On Saturday, May 14th AIDS Care Ocean hosted the second annual Swing Intro Spring fundraiser Gala at the Roger Williams Park Casino and attendees were dressed to the nines in vintage inspired 1920’s costume. AIDS Care Ocean State is thankful for everyone who attended, supported the agency and made the evening such a spectacular success, well done!

On Sunday, May 1st 11 contestants, whom had never performed in Drag, broke all records in the 6th Annual King of Queens’s fundraising competition supporting AIDS Care Ocean State. AIDS Care Ocean State is incredibly proud to announce the grand total raised to support our programs and services was just over $40,000.

AIDS Care Ocean State (ACOS) announced the appointment of Kenneth J. Mayer as President and CEO, effective the beginning of April. He succeeds Paul Fitzgerald, who is retiring at the end of March 2016 after 27 years of service.
