World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988.

From Scared to Sacred: AIDS, Love & Staying Alive
Presentation by Scott Fried, award winning international public speaker, HIV/AIDS Educator, and Author 7 pm The talk will detail Scott’s personal story – contacting HIV at age 24, surviving almost three decades, and ultimately turning a curse into a blessing. Scott describes having HIV infection in a context all young people can understand: vulnerability, loneliness, isolation, and hopelessness. His story provides a powerful example of learning from your mistakes and growing through adversity.

The parish of Saint Patrick, Fr. James Ruggieri, and Deacon Tim Flanigan would like to invite you to a bilingual (Spanish/English) Mass to commemorate World AIDS Day. Please join us as we pray for and celebrate the lives of all those who have died from HIV. We also pray for and ask God to console their families and friends. In addition, we will pray for those living with this illness. A light dessert collation will be held after Mass. Please help us spread the word and invite others to come and pray with us.
